No updates this week

As Carolyn mentioned, we're headed off to Oregon for the remainder of the week so I won't be updating my blog for a few days. I thought I should warn everybody so you're not taken off-guard but the lack of updates ;)

Trucker Pee

So as I mentioned on Chaelomen's blog, I lost my head phones and couldn't find them so after about a week I gave up and bought some new ones. I like the new ones. They've got those over the ear pieces so they're not just ear buds and they're much more comfortable. Anyway, so I went running again today for the first time in probably a week and a half, and since it's been so long, I stayed with week 2 of the program. I'll probably do week 2 another couple times and then next week move on to week 3. I was pretty tired by the end of the run, to say the least.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of sidewalks in our area. I don't think there is anywhere that I could possibly run and actually stay on the side walk. There's this one road that I usually go down that passes the train yard and of course there's no sidewalk and there's also a bunch of trash on the sides. One item that I happened to see today was an old Coke bottle full of yellow liquid, which I didn't stop to examine but assumed that it was pee. Seriously. I don't understand this one. Maybe it's because I'm not a guy, but it seems so ridiculous to pee into a bottle and then throw it out your car window. Sick.

We're going to Oregon for a family reunion (Frik's mom's family) on Wednesday morning so I'm trying to get the house all cleaned up before we go. Guildylocks will be dog sitting and house sitting, and I don't want her to have to be in a messy house, plus I don't want to come back to a messy house. That's the worst way to end a vacation.

A cute story I have to share

So I'm home alone with just me and the baby right now since Frik is at work, and he IMed me asking me to get a confirmation number that's written on a piece of paper on the dresser in our room, where the baby was already asleep on the bed. When I walked into the room, I noticed that although I had put her to sleep on her back, she had rolled over at some point and was sleeping on her tummy! I rolled her over, and she rolled right back onto her tummy in her sleep. So I tried again, and she rolled again, but she kept her head up and turned and looked at the door where the light was coming into the room from the hall. She had this little sleepy look on her face and then she put her head back down on the bed and closed her eyes again. It was adorable. I finally picked her up and put her back down on her back, then laid down next to her. She woke up a little and looked at me and smiled, then closed her eyes. While she was falling asleep, she kept opening her eyes a tiny bit and seeing that I was there, then closing them and getting this adorable little smile on her face. Then she fell asleep. It was so adorable. In other news, I may never eat again. We double booked ourselves today with 2 barbeques with friends. The first had the hugest burgers I have ever eaten (each one was at least 1/2 lb of meat) and the second had the hugest hot dogs I had ever eaten. Both were delicious, though. :)

RIP, Mike Wazowski

So long, old friend.

Old Blog

And everyone say hello to my new blog layout! Thanks to me quitting Verio, it was time to update the blog and move it back over to Frik's server since my server is going to be erased some time soon.

I'm trying to think of a new title for my blog. Any suggestions?

As promised….

The giant popcorn and round-the-clock half-time show are on their way. You'll have to excuse the picture quality, MS paint doesn't exactly get professional results :)

Now getting these pictures off the front page of my blog should be enough motivation for me to post some real blog entries... maybe.

Happy 5 months old!

We've been taking pictures of Squirt now every month to help us compare and see how much she's changed:
Birth:

1 Mo:

2 Mo:

3 Mo:

4 Mo:

And now, today, 5 Mo:

I think the biggest change was from 1 month to 2 months, but I still just can't believe how big she's gotten overall!
Last week, Frik exploded a glass pie pan that was on the front burner when he accidentally turned that one on instead of the back burner... At least no one was in the kitchen when the glass shards went flying everywhere! Come to find out today, though, that a couple of pieces of glass made it into our garbage disposal... which will now have to be replaced.
Anyone have a garbage disposal they're planning on giving away??

Awesome spam

I got an email message in my spam folder. The Subject: "what a stupid face you have here, carolynbear". The attachment: an exe file. Think I should open it?

:D

Oh, No! Poor Joe!

So last year (novemberish) I set up appointments for Frik and I to get our teeth cleaned and checked out. He had a couple cavities, so we made appts to get them filled. They filled them and I don't know if the dentist didn't clean it out well or if he did it on purpose or what just to make more money, but because of a couple of bad fillings, a few days later we were back at the dentist with him just about dying from the pain and them telling us that he needed a couple of root canals and some crowns. Well we got some antibiotics, got the crown done, and hit our annual limit on the insurance for him, so have put off getting the rest done as he has pretty much learned to live with the pain.

A couple days ago now, his teeth have been bugging him more, so we made an appt today with a different dentist and got him all checked out. His sinuses are all infected and they are definitely goign to do a root canal on at least one of the teeth. The difference between this dr and the last though is amazing. This one seems much better. For anyone in Happy Valley: let me know if you're looking for a dentist and I'll make sure you don't pick the one we did initially. We have read a ton of reviews online now and it turns out that our bad experience with them has not been the first.

I hope Frik feels better soon!

In other news, I quit my job. Put in my 2 weeks notice on Sunday of this week, so I have 1 1/2 weeks left to earn any money. Alice just has refused to take a bottle and is not too happy while I'm gone, plus Frik just got a raise with his new position, so we figured it was time. We knew that starting with the Fall semester, I would have to quit anyway so that Frik could take classes, but we just bumped the date up a little sooner.
